Japanese Xbox 360 Media Briefing Reveals New Titles

Earlier today Microsoft concluded a media briefing in Tokyo where it revealed what's in store for Japanese gamers. Xbox Live Arcade will see new titles from Konami, Hudson, Namco, SNK et D3, while it was confirmed Pacman and Galaga are in the works. On the X360 side of things several new titles were revealed. Namco Bandai announced Gundam Online and showed off a new RPG Culdcept Saga. Square Enix had a double header with Tri-Ace saying it is working on a new action-RPG, while Game Arts is developing a shooter game called Project Sylph.

Microsoft Game Studios Acquires Lionhead Studios

It's official, Microsoft Game Studios announced that it has purchased U.K.-based Lionhead Studios, known for titles such as Fable, The Movies, Black & White, and will begin creating X360 and Windows exclusive products.

The sequel to the destruction racer is set to accelerate its way onto the PS2, Xbox, and PC in the nitrous charged form of FlatOut 2 this June, courtesy of Bugbear Entertainment and Empire Interactive, while Vivendi Universal Games will distribute the title in the U.S.

PlayStation 3 Price Revealed?

In an interview with radio program Générations Europe 1, Sony Europe's Vice President Georges Fornay seems to have indicated a possible price range for Sony's next-gen console. As the answer to a question about the $500 price tag, Fornay replied that the PS3 would be in that price range, but switched over to Euros (500€ is approximately $620 USD). Sony Europe's VP said that the PS3 would be an expensive gaming machine, but relatively cheap considering the blu-ray technology included, which costs 1,000€. Later that day, Fornay retracted his on-air statement, saying he never announced a launch price.

'Kameo: Elements of Power' (X360) Co-op Pack Available On Xbox Live

Microsoft Game Studios and Rare revealed that the previously announced co-op pack for their action-adventure RPG game Kameo: Elements of Power is now available (26mb), at no extra charge. NCsoft Corporation has signed a licensing contract with Chinese online game operator The9 to release NCsoft’s online role-playing game Guild Wars in China. The contract will give The9 exclusive rights to provide Guild Wars online game services within mainland China for three years.

'Rome: Total War - Alexander' Revealed

Creative Assembly is not only working on Total War Medieval II, but also an official expansion pack for the original Rome: Total War, according to a preview on C&VG. The addon will feature six new historical battles, all playable in multiplayer, four new factions (Alexander's Macedonian army, The Persians, The Indians and the Barbarians) and roughly 50 new units, such as Theban Sacred band, Indian Elephants, Persian immortals and Indian naked female archers.

'Heroes of Might & Magic V Limited Edition' Announced
