Ritual managed to shock a lot of people last week when it announced its sudden acquisition by casual games developer/puyblisher MumboJumbo, putting the future of its SiN Episodes in question. An inhouse Q&A reveals we might see Episode 2 somewhere down the line, "What we plan to do right now, both Ritual and MumboJumbo, is establish ourselves in the casual gaming market with strong new franchises and then return to SiN at a later date. We love SiN, make no mistake, and we definitely want to return to it."

Killzone: Liberation is an all new, action-packed installment in the Killzone series, and features a new intelligent 3rd-person camera system. One of the best games of 2006 is getting even better as SCE is currently beta testing the Infrastructure Mode to possibly add Deathmatch multiplayer to Killzone Liberation.

Sony Income Drops, Ships 1.8 Million PS3 Units

Sony released its 3rd quarter results revealing it has shipped 1.8 million units, and while revenue was up nearly 10%, its overall income dropped 5%. PS2 and PSP hardware sales dropped, and overall software sales also declined, although the sale of PSP titles in particular was up. As a results Sony Games division recorded a $455 million loss, compared to $570 million income last year.

Slitherine Software and Lordz Game Studio Team Up

Slitherine announced that it is to work closely with the Lordz Game Studio, a mod team turned professional developers, on its first commercial title, a historical strategy game set during the Napoleonic wars. Play 'BioShock' (X360/PC) and Get Paid

Take 2 is looking for people who can come and play BioShock in the 2K offices in SoHo, for 3 hours a day, for 3 days in a row. You'll get $10 an hour, and get to play 9 hours of BioShock. Please fill out the questionnaire if you are interested. Time blocks are a bit flexible: 3-6, 4-7, 5-8, or 6-9 are all possible. You must be able to come for all 3 days (i.e. Wed.-Fri. of this week).
