Zipper Interactive's MAG is an online shooter where up to 256 players wage battles as 8-person squads in a new unique world. At Gamescom, Zipper lead designer Andy Beaudoin revealed that MAG will go open beta on Sept. 17, 2009.

While Guild Wars 2 adds a persistent world, it retains the unique characteristics of the original game, including a strong narrative, extensive instanced game play, an anti-grind design philosophy, and strong support for competitive play.

World of Warcraft is an MMORPG experience where players assume the roles of Warcraft heroes as they explore, adventure, and quest across a vast world.

Frogster has signed a contract for the worldwide rights to a new MMORPG project of Runewaker, the developer of Runes of Magic. The planned next gen online role-playing game is aimed to set new standards in design, technology, features and sheer dimension.

Colin McRae: DiRT 2 benefits from tuned-up car-handling physics system, a new damage engine effects, a new level of visual fidelity, with cars and tracks twice as detailed as those seen in the original, as well as a roster of off-road events, taking players to the most diverse and challenging real-world environments.

Magazine publisher Future announced a partnership with Blizzard Entertainment to publish World of Warcraft: The Magazine, the official magazine of the MMORPG, covering all aspects of the game, from game content to the players themselves.

The 'Home' 3D online user community service will enable users to create their own avatar and explore a real-time virtual community, as if they are playing a detailed 3D game. At Gamescom Sony announced that PlayStation Home’s core client will be getting a serious upgrade this fall.
