SwitchGames.com announced a program that gives members who buy or sell will be able to direct a percentage of their used game transaction proceeds to a game's publisher and developer. Until now, developers haven't had a mechanism or claim to proceeds from used games sales.

The French Parliament has approved a bill which would grant tax credits to video game developers for 20% of production costs, up to €3 million ($3.91 million) per year. Games would have to include "a cultural dimension," although it's unclear what that would entail.

The Game Developers Conference (GDC) is spreading its wings and is introducing the China Game Summit. The one-day event will take place tomorrow, Dec. 7, at The Hilton Hotel in Shanghai, China.
