While details are still scant, Call of Duty: Black Ops will take players behind enemy lines in an entirely new chapter in the first-person action series of all-time. While the previous Modern Warfare 2 installment did not have a Wii version, it seems
Black Ops will change that, while USA Today reveals that the game is set during the Cold War era with at least two main characters. Multiplayer being a big part of the franchise, Treyarch is said to be going "beyond the single-player story," with a two- to four-player co-op mode outside of the realm of the regular campaign, much like Modern Warfare's Spec Ops mode.

Former Criterion/EA Senior Designer Stuart Black is working on a new FPS for Codemasters, using its EGO engine. The creator of the shooter released in 2005 is joined by former Game Director at Sony Computer Entertainment London Studio Tom Gillo as executive producer, and former Blackrock Senior Producer on Split/Second Andrew Wilson, who has been appointed Senior Producer of an 80-strong development team.
