Japanese magazine Famitsu reveals that Sega Rally 2005 has slipped into 2006, is now scheduled for January, and has therefor been renamed to Sega Rally 2006. With development in its final stages, said to be 90% done, Sega Rally 2006 will most likely be playable at the upcoming Tokyo Game Show. Unlike the previous installments SG2006 will debut on console, and not the arcades as was the case with its predecessors. To accomodate gamers, In order to make the game longer, Sega has added a career mode, where you have to work your way up the ranks from amataeur to pro.

Techland has released a new patch for the Asus OEM edition of its rally racing sim Xpand Rally. Like before this update brings your retail game to v1.1.0.0 and improves the performance of the dedicated game server, fixes multiplayer problems, allows for changing the time of the day and weather conditions when running player-created maps, adds a 'less dust' feature in multiplayer to increase the game's performance, and improves the ChromEd tool (thanks 3DGamers). Techland's Xpand Rally demo features two cars (each with two different paintings) and three different tracks. Players will have two game modes to choose: Simulation and Arcade. The Xpand Rally MP Demo enables you to adjust main components of the car. Due to this feature the player is not only able to have the car match the road conditions, but also to his individual preferences. The Demo lets you to host an Internet or a LAN game.
