What Colin wants, Colin gets… After competing in the Dakar Rally earlier this year, Colin McRae’s request to have the Nissan Pickup-Dakar 2004 simulated has been fulfilled: the 4x4, which won him two stages of the endurance race, will be included as a special vehicle in Colin McRae Rally 2005.

Techland announced today that Xpand Rally MP Demo will be postponed until August 26, 2004. “Although it's just a demo version, we want to give players as good product as possible, so we have decided to delay the release of the Xpand Rally MP demo a bit. This additional time will allow us to polish the demo to the stage we originally wanted”, says Pawel Marchewka - Xpand Rally Executive Producer.

Techland has released a single-player demo for its 3D racing game Xpand Rally giving you the chance to try out three tracks (Arizona, Poland and Kenya), arcade and sim mode in two different car models. Techland, the developer of Xpand Rally, has today announced that the official multiplayer demo of the game will be published on the Internet on August 12th. The demo will feature one car model and two tracks and the players will have the choice of two different car handling models: simulation and arcade. Rev up those engines!

Codemasters has released the first patch for Colin McRae Rally 04. This upgrade brings your retail game to v1.01 and improves the ghost car tracking system, to improve the visibility over LAN/Internet. Controller calibration is now smoother and less hard to control. The gear box testing sections are now better balanced. The game now report the ready state correctly in LAN/Internet multiplayer modes. Added code to display name, damage, tracks, etc when using GameSpy Arcade.

Xpand Rally producer Techland informs that it has closed the registration process for beta testers and began the beta test. Over 10.000 people registered during the one week registration period! As announced before, Techland chose 2.000 from the registered users to become the Xpand Rally Official Beta Testers. Among all the registered the majority are residents of France, United States and Germany. However, there were also registrations from such countries as the United Arab Emirates, Korea and Malaysia.

On www.xpandrally.com web page everybody can declare his readiness to become an official Xpand Rally Beta Tester.
