Nintendo announced that it is adding a cool new color scheme to its NDS wardrobe on Feb. 10. Cobalt/Black marks the seventh color in the Nintendo DS Lite palette. It joins Polar White, Coral Pink, Onyx, Crimson/Black and the limited-edition Gold and Metallic Rose. Like a black T-shirt with a splash of color, the new Cobalt/Black version of the portable NDS will grab anybody's attention.

The latest NPD numbers confirm that the Wii is still one of the hottest items on the market, with nearly 1 million units sold last month alone. During a conference call earlier today, NoA president Reggie Fils-Aime revealed that large Wii shipments (20+ units) will be coming in this weekend at several retail stores such as Best Buy, Circuit City, Target and Wal-Mart. People who still can't find a Wii will be able to get a raincheck at GameStop, redeemable in Jan. 2008.

Nintendo has launched its Wii Points Card Shop, where Club Nintendo members can swap Stars (from purchased games) for Wii Points Cards, which contain a code that you can enter in the Wii Shop Channel on your Wii. This will add Wii Points to your Wii Shop Channel account, which in turn allows you to spend on such items as games for Virtual Console or Wii Software.

On Oct. 8th, Hong Kong court ordered the raid of Supreme Factory Limited facilities. During a three-day period, Nintendo seized more than 10,000 NDS/Wii game copying devices and mod chips used to unlawfully copy and play games. The mod chips allow the play of pirated Wii discs or illegal copies of Nintendo games downloaded from the Internet.

Super Smash Bros Brawl featuring Sonic announcements, Nintendo revealed a few other tidbits. Super Mario Stadium Baseball for the Wii, Fire Emblem DS, a new DS Demo Channel will be added to the Wii, although no details on what exactly it will offer. Mario Kart Wii will include motorbikes and come bundled with the Wii Steering Wheel. New Wiiware titles such as Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles, Bomberman, Pokemon Farm (import Diamond/Pearl monsters from your NDS) and Doctor Mario Wii.

Nintendo will be showing a huge lineup of cool games for both Wii and NDS at the E for All Expo in Los Angeles, California, including Super Mario Galaxy and Super Smash Bros. Brawl. After Nintendo's Senior Vice President George Harrison recently announced his departure, Senior Director of Corporate Communications Beth Llewelyn also put in her resignation and decided to "take some time off to be a full-time mom for a bit," after 12 years of service. A little while back, Nintendo decided to shut down its Redmond, Wa., offices, sell its property and set up shop in San Francisco and New York instead.
