revealed late last night, Nintendo announced the North American launch of its Wii home video game console is set for Nov. 19, at an MSRP of just $249.99. The price includes one wireless Wii Remote controller, one Nunchuk controller and the groundbreaking collection of five different Wii Sports games on one disc.

During its press conference in Japan, Nintendo announced that it will launch its new Wii game console on December 2 in Japan for 25,000 yen ($250). 16 titles will be available at launch, including The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess, Odoru! Made in Wario, Pokémon Battle Revolution, and Wii Sports will be sold separately.

An article from the
Seattle Post-Intelligencer referring to tomorrow's NY Times reveals Nintendo will announce that the Wii will be available Nov. 19 for $250 and will include Wii Sports titles (tennis, golf, baseball and bowling) bundled with the console. On top of that, it also reveals that there will be 25 to 30 Wii games available this year, including Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess, and they will be priced at $50. Wii will be able to browse the web, and classic downloadable games will cost $5-10.

IBM Corp. said it has been shipping microprocessors that will be used to power Nintendo's upcoming Wii video game console since July. IBM, who also makes chips for PS3 and Xbox 360, earlier this year signed a multiyear agreement to supply Nintendo with chips made at its East Fishkill, N.Y. plant.

At last week's Leipzig Games Convention, Nintendo passed around a flyer revealing plans to release an addon allowing your
NDS and GBAs to play MP3s. You will be able to store up to 500 songs on a 2 GB SD card, and the device will plug into the DS' slot 2, show all the pertinent information through its interface, come in a variety of skins and has its own headphone port. The retail price seems set for 29.99 Euros and is tentatively scheduled for October 8, 2006.

In an interview with
USA Today, Nintendo's Reginald Fils-Aime stated that : "We will offer online-enabled games that the consumers will not have to pay a subscription fee for. A memo sent to various Virgin Megastores in the UK may hold the key to the still undisclosed Nintendo Wii launchdate.
The letter, supposedly sent by Nintendo UK's Head of Games, reveals that 10 stores will be receiving a "countdown" clock later today, which should give us a clearer picture of when the Wii is actually going to launch. Since this was sent to Viurgin Megastores specirfically, we assume other outlets around the UK most likely received the same notice, if this letter of course is legit and not somebody playing a sick joke with our Wiilings...
