Total Soccer Facts & Screens

Ubi Soft® Entertainment and developers Exient today announced a publishing deal for Steven Gerrard's Total Soccer 2002 on GAME BOY® Advance.
A former YTS trainee, many hail Merseyside’s Steven Gerrard as the brightest young hope in English football. At the age of 21 he has already collected 5 England caps and scored 11 first team goals for his home club, Liverpool. Only a player of Gerrard’s calibre could match the stunning next-generation handheld action of Total Soccer 2002.

Following on from last year’s highly acclaimed GAME BOY® Color title (Nintendo World, 90% and GamesMaster, 94%), Total Soccer 2002 builds on the winning gameplay formula whilst really exercising the processing power of the GAME BOY® Advance. With smoother, faster, more detailed graphics and the latest statistics and teams, football fans are sure to be enthralled right from the kick off.

After choosing one of 174 real-world teams, players can participate in either friendly matches or full-on tournaments at national, European and International levels. The cart even comes with its own battery backup so these competitions need not be played in one sitting! With a highly entertaining 2-player link up mode also featured, Total Soccer 2002 is all set to keep players captivated long past the end of the season.

“Steven Gerrard’s skill and commitment to the finer points of football give him much in common with the philosophy behind Total Soccer 2002”, said Jim Hill, Product Manager, Ubi Soft Entertainment. “We feel his signing adds weight to an already fantastic title”.

“When I’m not playing football for England and Liverpool, the next best thing is playing computer football games. I have been a big fan for a long time and this has got to be the best game I have ever played. It is so realistic – you can do all the moves you do in real life and because it is on GAME BOY® Advance it looks great and I can take it with me and play it anywhere.” Commented Steven

Steven Gerrard’s Total Soccer 2002 will be released October 2001.
