Call of Cthulhu is a psychological survival/horror game based on H.P. Lovecraft's disturbing universe. Featuring a blend of action, mystery and adventure, Call of Cthulhu puts the player in the shoes of Private Eye Jack Walters, an investigator looking into the dark mysteries of the town of Innsmouth. With a first-person gameplay perspective, the game pulls the player into Lovecraft's nightmarish world of demons, demi-gods and ghouls.

Headfirst are also planning an exclusive PS2 game "Call of Cthulhu: Tainted Legacy" for release during Q4 2004. This new game not only remains true to the style treasured by Lovecraft's countless fans, but also brings to the world's most successful video game platform a truly unique and exhilarating game play experience.

The excitement being generated around the development of "Dark Corners of the Earth" has encouraged Headfirst to start work on the sequel, entitled "Beyond the Mountains of Madness", scheduled for release on Xbox and PC for Q4 2004 with a further exclusive PS2 game for Xmas 2005.

Mike Woodroffe, Headfirst's Managing Director, said "We are really excited about the long term prospects for the Call of Cthulhu franchise, especially now that Dreamworks have announced their up coming film based on the H. P. Lovecraft short story 'At the Mountains of Madness' which is to be directed by Guillermo del Toro of Blade 2 and Hellboy fame."

"Call of Cthulhu: Dark Corners of the Earth" is an eagerly anticipated first-person horror adventure based on the award winning RPG from Chaosium that in turn is based on the writings of the acclaimed American horror author H. P. Lovecraft.
