Universal Interactive, Inc. a studio of the Games division of Vivendi Universal Publishing (VU Games), announced that it will ship on November 29th “Spyro: Enter the Dragonfly” for the PlayStation2 computer entertainment system to retailers nationwide. “Spyro: Enter the Dragonfly” was developed by Equinoxe Digital Entertainment and is rated E for Everyone by the ESRB.

Spyro’s debut on a next-generation console returns the purple powerhouse to the Dragon Realms for a classic platform adventure gaming experience that launches him and his sidekick, Sparx, on their toughest exploit yet. The evil Ripto has hatched his latest dastardly plot and Spyro must step in to save the dragonflies-the source of all dragon magic-before it is too late!

Equipped with new weapons including ice, electricity and bubble breath, Spyro navigates through eight highly detailed environments complete with real-time lighting and fog effects, dynamic water and richly textured architecture. The game also includes 16 challenging new mini games and new vehicles including a tank, a UFO and a WWII Spitfire.

“After selling more than 11 million units worldwide, Spyro’s look has been updated and is now taking full advantage of the enhanced graphical capabilities of Sony’s next-gen system,” said Nicholas Longano, general manager of Universal Interactive. “Spyro fans and young gamers will discover countless hours of fast-moving platform adventure gameplay in Spyro’s latest console outing.”

Also making his return to the world of Spyro console gaming, Stewart Copeland, formerly of the Police, composed the musical score for “Spyro: Enter the Dragonfly.”
