Billy Martin, the award-winning composer whose outlets include such media icons as Walt Disney Pictures, Universal, Fox, the Cartoon Network, Nickelodeon and ABC, has created the music for a trio of animated games centred on Disney’s feature film Treasure Island, which opens in theaters nationwide on November 27.
Developed by Hulabee Entertainment for Disney Interactive the Treasure Planet Training Academy games are being released on PC and Mac to coincide with the movie based on Robert Louis Stevenson’s epic novel. Billy wrote the original orchestral scores for Treasure Planet Broadside Blast, Treasure Planet Etherium Rescue and Treasure Planet Treasure Race.

Aimee Paganini, Producer at Hulabee Entertainment, said, "Billy was very easy to work with on the Treasure Planet Training Academy products. He was able to provide us with great pieces on time, and on a quick schedule. I will definitely work with him again."

Whether conducting a 60-piece orchestra on the famed Sony sound stage or crafting an electronic score in his own technically appointed studio, Billy Martin creates music to tell stories.

Billy said of the experience, "Treasure Planet is the 20th Disney-related game I have scored. I really enjoy taking classic, well-known characters and bringing a little something new of my own into the mix. On Treasure Planet, the producer Aimee Paganini provided me with some great direction, and we were able to quickly zero in on the kind of music that would be just right for the games."

Other Disney titles for which Martin has written music for game animation include Hunchback of Notre Dame, Jungle Book Rhythm and Groove, and Lion King II. He also composed the music for Ubisoft’s Tarzan Untamed and Disney’s Phonics Quest which were nominated by the Academy of Interactive Arts and Sciences for 2002 Console Children's Game of the Year and 2002 Computer Educational Title of the Year, respectively. In addition, Martin has written for film and television including Steven Spielberg Presents Toonsylvania (Dreamworks/Fox), Land Before Time VIII (Universal), Cinderella II (Disney), Silent Predators (TBS), American Tail IV (Universal), and Land Before Time VI (Universal). He is a winner of several film music awards including A Song For Jade (CalfeyeFilms) - Winner, 2001 Black Filmmakers Hall of Fame Award, and Requiem (Ungerfilm) - Winner, 1999 Cine Golden Eagle Award.
