The Trust has kicked off the scheme by making three bursaries available, and of particular interest to young UK flight simmers is the first industry donation from leading flight sim publisher Just Flight. Entries are being co-ordinated by flight sim magazine PC Pilot, itself an associate member of the RAeC. There is £500.00 up for grabs for a young flight simmer, aged between 16 and 21, who wants to convert their stick time on PC into flying training.
To be considered for the bursary, you will need to convince the bursary commitee in no more than 700 words why you think you deserve the financial assistance. What is being looked for, in addition to an interest in flight simulation, is a real desire to undertake some formal flying training. Priority will be given to those residents who have a goal to their training, such as building PPL hours and becoming a career pilot.
Details of the bursary scheme are also available in the Christmas issue of PC Pilot, on sale December 6th from most newsagents or direct from www.pcpilot.net
Applications for the bursary should be sent as a Word or text document to bursary@pcpilot.net or by post to: RAEC Bursary c/o PC Pilot, PO Box 11, St. Ives, PE27 3GW. Entries are open to UK residents aged between 16 and 21 at the time of entry, and applications must be received no later than 31 January 2003.
