NDL's Graphics Engine Showcased in Bethesda's Release of Tribunal

Fans of The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind now have much more to explore and do with The Elder Scrolls III: Tribunal, an expansion pack for Morrowind PC that is in stores just in time for the holidays. Both Morrowind and Tribunal were developed by Bethesda Softworks using NDL's 3D graphics engine and development toolkit, known for providing game developers with the tremendous flexibility they need to create environments unique to their games.

Morrowind has won more than 40 awards, including Editor's Choice awards from PC Gamer, Computer Gaming World, Computer Games Magazine, IGN, and many other publications. In its "Editors' Choice" review of the title, PC Gamer magazine said "Morrowind is perhaps the most technologically cutting-edge first-person RPG ever... Really, though, it's the lushly detailed 3D worlds that set a new standard for this kind of RPG. There are day/night cycles, booming thunderstorms, blinding sandstorms, an almost obscene array of flora and fauna (while you can't stop to actually smell the flowers, you can pick them), and a commendable level of architectural variety. After a few hours, Morrowind begins to feel like a living, breathing world."

"Like Morrowind, using NetImmerse with Tribunal allows us to create new assets and get them into the game very quickly," says Todd Howard, executive producer for Bethesda Softworks. "That's important when doing an expansion on a short schedule." For a live interview of Howard discussing the NDL engine and its capabilities, please visit www.ndl.com/roi/flash/bethesda.html.

Tribunal introduces the god-kings Almalexia and Sotha Sil, two of the three ruling Tribunal gods. In the expansion, you travel to Mournhold, capital city of Morrowind, and along the way will face goblins, lich lords, and Fabricants. Tribunal can be experienced by players new to the game or those who have already completed the main quests of Morrowind. The expansion pack adds from 20 to 40 hours of gameplay, depending on the number of tasks players undertake.
