Woody Woodpecker In Crazy Castle 5 (GBA) - Facts & Screens

by Rainier on Feb. 1, 2002 @ 12:10 a.m. PST

Kemco is pleased to announce that we have won the well-known Australian developer Tantalus for our new Woody Woodpecker game, "Woody Woodpecker in Crazy Castle 5". This latest installment of the successful "Crazy Castle" series is the first to be developed exclusively for Game Boy Advance.

It will catch the spirit of animated movies by utilizing many of the "tricks" Woody and his friends can muster and combine with it the popular "Crazy Castle" universe. "WWCC5" offers six worlds with 6 stages each, and an easy-to-use interface without any difficult button combinations. This game is immediately assessable to all ages!

"Crazy Castle 5" makes use of the features of the new Game Boy Advance hardware: It will feature the entire palette of colors, including semi-transparent colors for flames and water effects, as well as the power of the 32-bit CPU for game speed. There will be things happening on the screen that would never have been possible on older Game Boy hardware. Woody Woodpecker wears seven different costumes in the game which change his abilities. He will also show his unique ability as a woodpecker: Woody is able to peck himself through walls or obstacle blocks. And of course, he has different items to enhance his powers: Skateboards, Jetpacks, safety helmets and cakes (yes, flying cakes!) are ready for the players‘ use. For the first time, the gameflow is non-linear, the player can proceed through the game in any order. And there are the new one-way doors, they make the game more difficult to solve. "Woody Woodpecker in Crazy Castle 5" is in the works and will be published exclusively for Game Boy Advance in May 2002.

Short Story

One day, Mother Nature asked for Woody Woodpecker‘s help: The fairy world had been seized by demons. Woody's interest is sparked when he learns that there is a treasure chest waiting in Crazy Castle, the legendary castle of the fairy world. But to reach the Crazy Castle, Woody has to first free the five worlds of the elements of nature in the In-Between World. The element worlds are the worlds of fire, water, wind, sand, and trees. Each world has its own different features. Each world also has its own mysterious castle, occupied by a demon that has one Element Key. Once Woody has gathered all five keys, the legendary Crazy Castle appears. Woody must face the same types of challenges he faced in the previous five worlds as he heads toward the throne to meet the demon that occupies Crazy Castle…
