'Jester Int.' Announces Tie-In With Leading Super-club 'Slinky'

by Rainier on March 12, 2002 @ 5:16 p.m. PST

North Wales, March 14th: Respected computer and video game developer Jester Interactive has announced a landmark new version of its multiple award-winning Music series for PC, which will be the first to be marketed under the Club Edition banner and is endorsed by UK super-club Slinky.

  • Jester Interactive and Slinky join forces for ultimate music creation title.
  • Easy to use interface allows dance fans to create tracks and videos.
  • Select from over 500 Slinky beats and loops or import your own.
  • Features 12 exclusive tracks to edit and rework.
  • Extensive video biographies of Slinky DJs.

Due for release in April, Music 2002: Club Edition: Slinky marks the first time Jester Interactive has worked with a super-club, and the resultant package contains everything a practising DJ could need.

The easy-to-use software allows users to produce dance music using a series of beats, breaks and loops supplied by leading in-house Slinky DJs. A fully featured and user-friendly music and video creation system for PC, Music 2002: Club Edition: Slinky enables users to create, edit and produce tracks and produce accompanying videos with ease.

Using a simple yet effective cut and paste interface designed in conjunction with the club, Music 2002: Club Edition: Slinky allows users to piece together dance tracks using over 500 samples from the Slinky Pro-cut archives. The package also features 12 exclusive pro mixes from resident DJs such as Lisa Lashes and includes remixes of classic Slinky tracks, including Andy Passion's 'Future Is', Collective Minds' 'Waves Apart', Series A's 'Spiritrider' and Coast 2 Coast's 'Be With You' and 'Home.' A final track listing will be confirmed shortly.

Beating at the heart of the package is a heavily reworked version of Jester Interactive's Music 2000 engine. Selecting beats and loops from those on offer or using imported ones, tracks are compiled within 99 channels, which are then automatically streamed into the final product. Pop up menus can then be used to alter the speed and tempo of tracks or add a wide range of audio effects, with users then saving their work out at .WAV files.

Tracks can also be enhanced with fully customisable 'videos', wherein the user can create breath-taking images to complement each track, with a secondary menu screen allowing users to select from pre-set effects or create their own. The package will also feature extensive videographies of the Slinky DJs featured.

Furthering Jester Interactive's close working relationship with Slinky, the two companies will be joining together via specially targeted cross-promotions and events. Jester will have an extensive presence during Slinky's forthcoming World Tour, which launches in March and will see the Slinky DJs hosting special events in Canada, Brazil, Ibiza, Asia and Australasia.

Music 2002: Club Edition: Slinky is released for PC in April 2002.
