I-10 runs from Good Friday until Easter Monday at Newbury Racecourse, and will be the UK’s largest-ever gathering of gamers – with 1,000 players competing across a range of tournaments. In addition, the event is open to the public, who can turn up on the day and watch the biggest series of tournaments ever held at a LAN party.
CDV is sponsoring the UK’s first official Cossacks: Art of War tournament as well as demonstrating Breed, the staggering Brit-developed first-person shooter, which looks set to rival the best example of the genre on any format, and Imperium Galactica 3, the cinematic space tactical game, pencilled in for later this year. Merchandise and giveaways will also be available throughout the event, and games players will be able to meet some of the more “interesting” characters from CDV’s games.
“I-10 will demonstrate how far networked gaming has come,” says Leo Zullo, Marketing Manager, CDV Software Entertainment UK, “and we’re pleased to offer it our wholehearted support. The country’s most committed gamers will gather from all ends of the UK, and we’ll be rewarding them with a genuine world first – the first public showcase of Neocron (running on machines kindly provided by www.theoverclockingstore.co.uk). The Cossacks tournament should prove a highlight of the event – but those knocked out early can take consolation in the fact that they’ll be able to spend more time taking a look at our future releases, or perhaps getting their picture taken with our lovely Neocron characters.”
