by Rainier on March 28, 2002 @ 8:49 p.m. PST

Ubi Soft Entertainment and Red Storm Entertainment are pleased to announce that the mission pack Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon: Desert Siege will hit the shelves today. European Ghost Recon fans should expect it in a matter of a few days/a week as well.
Set in East Africa in 2009, Ghost Recon: Desert Siege is a squad based tactical combat game that follows the exploits of a fictional US Special Forces team. A 60-year old conflict boils over as Ethiopia invades its smaller neighbor Eritrea, threatening the world's most vital shipping lanes in the Red Sea. As the war rages on, the Ghosts are drawn from Eritrea's shores to the heart of Ethiopia in their deadliest battles yet.

Pushing the realism of Desert Siege even further, the Ghosts will carry the CamelBak® hydration system. CamelBak back-mounted hydration packs, the creator and leader of the hands-free hydration category, are standard issue to the US Army, and are used in actual desert combat, conveniently delivering clean, cool water during tough missions.

Ghost Recon: Desert Siege will feature 2 new multiplayer modes, fully compatible with Ghost Recon maps, 8 new single-player missions, 9 new multiplayer weapons, 4 new multiplayer maps, an all-new storyline, new enemies, new vehicles, new team members and an all-new war.

Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon: Desert Siege has an MSRP of $19.99 and requires the full version of Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon.
