Microsoft Corp. today announced that "Kung Fu Chaos™," a '70s-style kung fu brawler game, is currently in development exclusively for the Xbox™ video game system. "Kung Fu Chaos" allows up to four people to battle it out on huge interactive movie sets that provide an added challenge to the mayhem. In true Hong Kong style, the combat features over-the-top gigantic leaps, suicidal stunts and multiple-opponent action. Gamers can choose from an outrageous cast of characters, each with unique brawling capabilities.

"Kung Fu Chaos" is about fun, competition, glory, humiliation, insults and back-stabbing. "Kung Fu Chaos" features the music track "Kung Fu Fighting" and the soundtrack from "Enter the Dragon." It is being developed by Just Add Monsters Ltd. (JAM) and is scheduled for release in fall 2002.

"Kung Fu Chaos" includes the following key features:

  • An incredible cast of characters. "Kung Fu Chaos" features an outrageous cast of would-be superstars. Each character has a unique fighting style, an array of hilarious mistranslated taunts and a repertoire of spectacular special attacks. The cast includes Chop & Styx, the lone samurai with a kid strapped to his back; Ninja Fu Hiya, the ninja who tries too hard; Candi Roll, who's done her fair share of fighting on the casting couch; and Xui Tan Sour, avenger of her father, brother, village and pet goldfish.
  • Combat - with a twist. It will take more than just a cool move to win this game. "Kung Fu Chaos" features a combat system with the added twist of humiliation. Pummel opponents with slick moves or power up with taunts that add to the impact. Combat moves are easy to learn but deep enough for experienced players to gain new skills and really go to town on their enemies.
  • Amazing environments. Huge animating structures, traveling sets, incidental details and spectacular action sequences all come together to deliver epic battles that are fast-paced, highly competitive and downright funny.
  • Gameplay diversity. Featuring a wide range of single- and multiplayer gameplay modes, mini games, team-play possibilities, customizable options and unlockable features, "Kung Fu Chaos" is a pick-up-and-play gameplay extravaganza designed for a wide range of players.
