A New Trainz Demo Released

by Rainier on March 9, 2002 @ 12:06 a.m. PST

Strategy First and Auran announced today that a new demo for their model railroad simulation, Trainz is now available for download. Excellent catch for trainsim fans!
The newest version of the Trainz demo provides players with more content, including new locomotives, such as the British Class 37 and the New York Central F7; and additional Surveyor menus, such as tools and world menus. The demo also improves performance and changes the DC controls to more realistic cabin mode controls. 3D models have been enhanced and textures have also been improved.

Any modeler, train enthusiast or gaming fan will enjoy the experience of Trainz. It immerses players into the driver's seat of their favorite locomotives and allows them to create a huge variety of layouts using hundreds of textures and objects from around the world. Players will be able to build their own stunningly realistic routes from a variety of locations, from the busy US East Coast, the picturesque English countryside to the endless plains of the Australian Outback - all using the intuitive and powerful TRAINZ SURVEYOR editor.

With the addition of Discreet's gmax game pack, players can create and import their own 3D content into the game and extend the incredible capabilities of the Trainz Surveyor even further. Trainz also allows users to create spectacular layouts, that can be populated with objects and locomotives created by people from all over the world and then linked and swapped freely over the net.

As quoted by Gone Gold, Trainz is "[a program] that is incredibly easy to use, and you can start with one "square" of a map and continue adding sections until your hearts content! You'll be amazed at how the time flies while you've been trying to put a tremendous amount of detail into one small section. It's totally addictive."

Try Trainz for yourself!
