by Rainier on April 8, 2002 @ 1:51 p.m. PDT

Lilo & Stitch takes the player into the story of Disney’s major upcoming Summer 2002 feature film release. Players explore locations and situations taken directly from the film, and in some cases, beyond what is actually seen in the movie. The game features a variety of gameplay mechanics, including: running, dodging, jumping, hiding, races against the clock, forced-scroll chase sections, and end-level boss combat.
This is a platform game that gives players the chance to play their favourite duo, Lilo & Stitch. With a wide variety of enemies, from Hawaiian wildlife to alien bounty hunters players, must guide Lilo & Stitch in their quest around the island defeating these foes among the varying landscapes, and testing their wits against moving platforms.

The player can choose to play as either Lilo or Stitch depending on which path they choose to take. Each characters has different abilities – Stitch is destructive with his teeth whilst Lilo casts spells using her voodoo skills. The game consists of three exciting worlds: Hanalei (Lilo’s village), Kauai Jungle and Volcano Park.

Characters

  • Lilo
Lilo is very protective of Stitch, she is adventurous, creative and superstitious and wants to help Stitch calm down to enable him to stay with her family. In her mission to calm Stitch, and protect him from his enemies, Lilo must use some special moves and cast voodoo spells.
  • Stitch
Stitch’s tends to create havoc. He enjoys freedom and destroying all that is around him. Being intergalatic ‘Public Nuisance No 1’ he is being hunted down by the alien space hunters, Jumba and Pleakley. He is desperate to escape the confines of Hawaii and evade capture – so he sticks by Lilo as she is a useful shield to him, and of course he begins to care for her. As well as jumping he can roll himself into a ball, and once enough speed has been gained he can roll over ramps that will allow him to breach gaps. This can also be used to smash up anything destructible by simply rolling into them. Stitch can also climb up walls. His attack is to bite anything that comes close, which he can use on almost anything.
