by Rainier on May 10, 2002 @ 10:42 a.m. PDT

Crave Entertainment, a leading publisher of videogame entertainment products, will preview its 2002 product lineup during the E3 Expo at the Los Angeles Convention Center, May 22-24, 2002.

More than 60,000 industry executives and journalists from around the world will attend the show. The lineup includes a wide range of game types, from extreme sports to genre-defying space adventures to a psychological thriller, for multiple gaming platforms.

"We are exhibiting a variety of quality entertainment titles that combine great gameplay and advanced technology at the show this year," said Martin Spiess, senior vice president, global marketing at Crave Entertainment. "We are expanding our strong, established brands like Ultimate Fighting Championship, while exploring new terrain with games like The Lost, Mace Griffin Bounty Hunter and Whirl Tour."

Highlights From Crave's 2002 Lineup:

  • Ultimate Fighting Championship
Build the Best. Destroy the Rest. UFC: Throwdown introduces real fighting for the first time to the Nintendo GameCube and PlayStation(R)2 computer entertainment system. The successful genre, created by Crave in 2000, again features actual UFC champions and all the real, unbelievable mixed martial arts moves found in the Octagon.
With amazingly realistic graphics and an unprecedented Fighter Career Mode, the anticipated release date of UFC: Throwdown, for both the PlayStation(R)2 computer entertainment system and the Nintendo GameCube, is June 2002.
  • The Lost
The Lost takes the Survival-Horror genre to all new depths by providing the chills of a classic survival horror game while incorporating a multi-character RPG skills system that goes deeper than any other before it.
  • Its compelling storyline and complex character development will have gamers' hearts and minds racing as they explore frightening, modern day adaptations of Dante's nine circles of Hell. The anticipated release date of The Lost, for the PlayStation 2 and the Xbox is fourth quarter 2002.
  • Mace Griffin Bounty Hunter
Groundbreaking technology drives this original action title. By allowing gamers to seamlessly transition between first-person action and arcade space combat, Mace Griffin Bounty Hunter delivers a totally unique gaming experience.
Players are immersed in a universe of huge corporations and futuristic gunslingers as Mace seamlessly travels from the ground to the air to a space-tracking quarry as he unravels a deep, and very dangerous, mystery. The anticipated release date, for Xbox, GameCube, PlayStation 2 and PC, is fourth quarter 2002.
  • Whirl Tour
Whirl Tour offers a unique combination of action, extreme sports and adventure when someone kidnaps six members of a rock band. Mad skills and puzzle solving are key aspects of the game. Players battle enemies, pull off tricks, unlock secret areas and grab musical tracks as they rescue the band members and discover the story behind their abduction. Its anticipated release on both GameCube and PlayStation 2 is fourth quarter 2002.
  • H2Overdrive
H2Overdrive is a high-speed, water-drenched speedboat-racing arcade with broad appeal and multi-player action. H2Overdrive features 10 tracks and boats, each with a unique driver and a wide range of power-ups that can be used to gain an advantage or "wipe out" the competition! Tsunami anyone? The anticipated ship date for the PlayStation 2 is third quarter 2002.
