Deer Hunter(R) Series Reaches New Heights With Announcement of Deer Hunter(R) 2003

"Deer Hunter, the game known for creating virtual hunting, is back with a new advanced high-tech graphics engine," said Dennis Davidson, marketing manager at Infogrames' Minneapolis studio. "This means more detailed environments including grass, bushes and rocks plus weather and lighting effects to make the hunt even more realistic. The new generation of Deer Hunter also employs a hunter skills system that immerses players in the game like never before."

With skills developed over the course of this incredible virtual hunting experience, players will track white-tailed deer, Columbia black-tailed deer and mule deer. Escaping to the majestic beauty and serenity of the backcountry, hunters can choose from four game play modes: Hunt Now, Hunting Trip, Learn to Hunt and Hunt Online. The new "Learn to Hunt" tutorial teaches amateur players game skills like the basics of the hunt, strategic positions, gun and bow instruction, calling and deer behavior. Additionally the new "Be the Hunter" option enables players to develop and advance character skills throughout the hunt.

Another new option, the exciting video camera, allows players to record their hunt and share with friends over the Internet.

In Deer Hunter 2003, players hunt on huge maps covering more than five square miles in swamps, farmland, northern forests and mountains in world-class hunting locations such as Alabama, Iowa, Quebec, Wyoming and British Columbia. Players will have a large variety of sporting arms to choose from that include guns, bows, and handguns. Providing the ultimate hunting experience, Deer Hunter 2003 allows players to use such equipment as grunt calls, scents, binoculars, and tree stands.

New to the series is the "Create a Gun" where players choose from several gun or bow types to build their favorite hunting weapons.

Other game features include multiplayer support over Internet or LAN and the ability to download new content like textures for hunters, sporting arms and vehicles; ammunition and custom maps made with the included map editor.
