'Mutant Chronicles' To become MMORPG

by Rainier on May 17, 2002 @ 11:56 p.m. PDT

Paradox Entertainment will publish the massively multi-player on-line RPG version of its post-apocalyptic techno-fantasy property Mutant Chronicles in Spring 2003. It is a joint venture with Dubai-based Imaginations FZ-LLC which has been working on the project for some time.

Mutant Chronicles Online RPG takes the original Mutant Chronicles paper role-playing game into the virtual reality. Players will be able to choose from 40 different customizable characters (with male-female versions, which doubles the number) with full access to the entire armoury known to MC RPG players.

Some major open issues led to a hold on the Warzone Online project. It is our belief that online games are still best suited in a role-playing environment. With Imaginations we found a dedicated group who knew the universe and have great skill in online gaming architecture. says Theodore Bergquist, CEO of Paradox Entertainment.

The starter game will include the full Luna City, with other areas becoming available in add-on packs and upgrades. The setting will be a complete and realistic environment, with all features characteristic for Mutant Chronicles and no limitations to the character's advance. If you have strategic skills and a strong personality, you can try to unite all command thugs of the Perimeters with you as a mob boss - or die with a hole in the head if you are not convincing enough! Almost 40 levels in five city locations, TPP camera, dynamic lighting, 3d sound will all contribute to an outstanding player experience!
