Shrapnel Games To Publish 'Aaron Hall's Dungeon Odyssey'

by Rainier on Aug. 3, 2002 @ 9:47 p.m. PDT

This one eluded us yesterday but Shrapnel Games announced a new offering in their partnership with Malfador Machinations to publish Aaron Hall's Dungeon Odyssey today. Aaron Hall's Dungeon Odyssey brings the unlimited gameplay of his previous Space Empires games to the RPG market.
Richard Arnesen, Director of Covert Operations for Shrapnel Games, said, "Aaron has brought all of the elements of a classic roleplaying experience, and added the customization that has made Space Empires: IV Gold such a hit. Instead of relying on fancy graphics to wow you, his newest title brings back the gameplay that has always made the Role Playing Game genre so robust and vast in scope. If you have ever wanted to create your own RPG universe, this is the game for you. And at a price none of the major publishers can match!"

Tim Brooks, President of Shrapnel Games, added, "We are publishing this offering in a unique way for us. The product will come in a jewel case, with the manuals - there are three - on the CD. We will also be offering the product via electronic download approximately three weeks after the initial release. This way, those who want a physical product have that option, but those wanting to save on shipping can just download the game from the Gamers Front."

Aaron Hall's Dungeon Odyssey is an RPG where you will adventure to far off lands and encounter a multitude of different creatures. But once you complete the game, the fun is not over. Dungeon Odyssey creates a random world for you each time you play. So no two games are ever the same. And to add to the fun, the game is completely customizable (moddable) so that players can create their own modules for others to play.

  • Seven character classes: Fighter, Thief, Paladin, Ranger, Mage, Priest, Druid.
  • Nineteen character attributes!
  • Rich gaming environment, built with bitmaps for easy modding.
  • A multitude of controls that would be daunting if designed by anyone other than Aaron Hall...
  • More items than we can count!
  • Skills and spells. Yep, you guessed it, more than we care to count...
  • Over 40 different monsters (we counted them, they're really cool!)
  • Three Manuals: A Users Guide, A Modding Guide and a Reference Guide.
  • Everything that is important is included in editable text files for easy modding.
  • Support - the kind of support that Malfador Machinations, Aaron Hall, and Shrapnel Games brings to all of their products.
  • Have it your way: Available as a Jewel Case Product (projected shipping date is 08/19/02) or via electronic download (projected download date is 09/06/02).
  • And much much more...

Already Gold, Aaron Hall's Dungeon Odyssey is expected to begin shipping on August 19, 2002. A demo will be available in the next few weeks at the Shrapnel Games website. The retail price will be $29.95, but those that pre-order the game from the Gamers Front before August 15, 2002 will save $4.00 off the retail price.
