McCree Music will provide writing, production and sound design services solely for the computer games industry, whilst working in collaboration with its established parent company Meode Productions.
Formed in July 1998 by Nathan McCree and Matt Kemp to provide music and sound services for all recording and broadcast media, Meode Productions, which has already worked with The Spice Girls and Orange, will now only focus on other forms of entertainment media including TV and Film.
Nathan McCree, director of McCree Music and Meode Productions and who is renowned for composing the score for Tomb Raider 1, 2 and 3 comments on the division of companies: "The range of audio expertise required for computer games is far greater than any other form of media entertainment, and the process of implementing the audio experiences is becoming more complex as the industry rushes into maturity.
"It was a natural progression to form a specialist company. McCree Music is a response to the industry’s growing demand for interactive audio perfection."
