Ubi Soft Entertainment is delighted to announce that the title Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon: Island Thunder has reached Gold Master Status. Ghost Recon: Island Thunder was developed at Ubi Soft's Red Storm Entertainment development studio as a Mission Pack for Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon, which was PC Gamer's and IGN.com's PC Game of the Year in 2001.
The Ghosts, an elite team of U.S. Army Green Berets, are sent to Cuba in 2009 as part of a UN peacekeeping force to destroy the drug funded rebel forces and their mercenary leaders and secure the elections for a free Cuba.
Ghost Recon: Island Thunder features eight new single-player missions in an all-new campaign set across the island of Cuba. The game includes five new dedicated multiplayer maps, twelve new multiplayer weapons-including the FN M240G and the MM-1 automatic grenade launcher-- and two new multiplayer game types. There are also new Cuban enemy vehicles, new allied vehicles and amazingly realistic insertions by helicopter. Ghost Recon takes the next step in battlefield realism with Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon: Island Thunder.
Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon: Island Thunder ships on PC CD ROM on September 25, 2002 within the United States. MSRP $19.99.
