RollerCoaster Tycoon 2 Has Gone Gold

Heralding the return of the best-selling PC game franchise that started the "Tycoon" game craze, Infogrames, Inc. today announced that RollerCoaster Tycoon 2 has gone gold and will be in stores on "RollerCoaster Tycoon Tuesday", October 15. In great demand by both retailers and consumers, the Company said that the initial shipment of the game will reach one million units worldwide.

Retail demand for RollerCoaster Tycoon 2 has been enormous with RollerCoaster Tycoon 2 gaining 100 percent distribution in North America at more than 15,000 software retailers. Retail presence will be supported through a variety of impactful point-of-purchase materials and a co-op advertising program with leading national retailers.

Infogrames will be providing unprecedented support to the launch of RollerCoaster Tycoon 2 with an integrated multi-million dollar marketing campaign that links retail efforts with online, promotional and advertising initiatives. The highlight of the campaign is a captivating new TV spot that will begin airing on October 15 as well as during the key holiday sales period.

To date, RollerCoaster Tycoon and its two expansion packs, Loopy Landscapes and Corkscrew Follies have sold over five million units worldwide. The all-new RollerCoaster Tycoon 2 provides more creativity, more freedom and more control than previous RollerCoaster Tycoon products by incorporating fresh new features into its design, including all new rides and themes, bigger park maps, and the highly touted Roller Coaster Designer and Scenario Editor.

Through an exclusive licensing agreement with Six FlagsĀ® Inc., the world's largest regional theme park company, five Six Flags theme parks and 25 of the most exciting Six Flags thrill rides will be available to players in RollerCoaster Tycoon 2.
