by Rainier on Sept. 28, 2002 @ 1:13 a.m. PDT

It is a period of great unrest. The evil Prince John has seized power after his older brother, the rightful King of England, Richard the Lionheart was kidnapped and taken hostage by the King of Austria. Under Prince John’s tyranny the good people of England have already suffered dearly. One man, the embodiment of honor and agent of retribution has vowed to save his people and restore peace to England. This man is known as Robin Hood.

Players take on the role of Robin Hood and must use strategy, cunning, and quick reflexes to defeat Prince John, rescue King Richard, and reunite England. Together with the help of Little John, Friar Tuck, Maid Marian and the band of merry men, Robin Hood must use his mastery of archery, swordsmanship, jousting, and siege warfare to lead the people of England to victory.

Cinemaware’s first internal game production, “Robin Hood: Defender of the Crown” is currently in development at the company’s headquarters in Burlingame, California. The product is based on Cinemaware’s hit game “Defender of the Crown”, first released in 1986 on the Commodore Amiga. Defender of the Crown was subsequently available on a variety of gaming platforms and sold over 1,000,000 units worldwide.

Key Features:

2, Microsoft’s XBox and PC.

Cinemaware games offer a unique blend of Action, Strategy and Role Playing presented in grand cinematic style. The company’s products are targeted toward the casual gaming audience offering fun, challenging, and highly accessible gameplay based on widely appealing American pop culture, historical settings and film themes.
