"Played from a first person perspective, gamers relive one of the most pivotal events in our nation's history," said Patrick Kelly, Vice President of Studios, Activision Value Publishing. "For the first time, players can experience the epic struggle of the Civil War through the eyes of an infantry soldier fighting in some of the most realistic Civil War battles ever seen in a PC game."
In "Gods and Generals," players fight through nine epic campaigns based on battle scenes from the film including Bull Run, Fredericksburg and Chancellorsville. Each battle offers its own set of unique objectives requiring players to undertake multiple mission types including charging enemy positions, river crossings, urban assaults, sniper missions and traditional line engagements. Players advance through the game armed with authentic weapons of the era including revolvers, swords, bayonets, knives and muzzle load rifles. Ten minutes of film footage further immerses players in authentic and ultra realistic combat sequences.
Minimum system requirements for "Gods and Generals" include Windows 98/2000/ME/XP, Pentium II 500Mhz, 128MB RAM, 600MB Hard Drive Space, 4x CD-ROM, DirectX 8.1 (included), 32MB AGP 3D Hardware Accelerator (Direct 3D support and T&L support), and DirectX 8.1 compatible sound card.
