'Gladiator Sword of Vengeance' (CONSOLE) Unveiled

Transporting players to an era when emperors reigned and warrior slaves battled savagely to their deaths, Acclaim Entertainment, Inc. today unveiled Gladiator Sword of Vengeance for the next-generation consoles. Currently under development with Acclaim's Manchester studio, Gladiator Sword of Vengeance is an epic adventure set in ancient Rome, where warriors' fates are decided by the cold steel of a sword. Gladiator Sword of Vengeance will feature an intuitive fighting system that allows players to fight multiple opponents and unleash an array of deadly combo attacks and bloody finishing moves.

"Gladiator Sword of Vengeance fuses a larger-than-life backdrop of the Roman Empire with intense combat and epic storytelling," said Ned Browning, Brand Manager for Acclaim. "For Gladiator Sword of Vengeance we're incorporating all of the hallmark elements gamers expect from action adventure games, and more, while at the same time creating gameplay that captures the brutality and ingenuity of gladiatorial combat."

Gladiator Sword of Vengeance includes:

-- Advanced combat system that allows a huge variety of moves and multiple targeting, never-before-seen in traditional 3rd-person action games;
-- "Death Blows" -- more than 60 graphic, gory killing moves based on authentic historical data;
-- Huge variety of opponents, including powerful nemesis gladiators and terrifying mythical monsters;
-- Scripted cameras and dynamic lighting, create a truly cinematic gaming experience;
-- Major "Gore" element in combat mode, featuring decapitation, fatal wounding, dismemberment and a dynamic "blood spray" system;
-- Diverse array of weaponry that expands through progressive gameplay;
-- The forces of ancient mythology and the use of the power of the Gods to defeat them;

Gladiator Sword of Vengeance will be available this fall across the next-generation systems at suggested retail prices to be determined.
