'Backyard Wrestling: Don't Try This At Home' (PS2/Xbox) - Screens

by Rainier on May 12, 2003 @ 10:17 a.m. PDT

Backyard Wrestling places you in the role of an aspiring wrestler. You must be prepared to endure extreme amounts of pain and take incredible risks in order to move one step closer to the BYW title and ultimately be crowned "The King of Hardcore."

Currently in development by Paradox Development, Backyard Wrestling: Don't Try This At Home is an outrageous and over-the-top extreme wrestling game that takes the player beyond the traditional restraints of a wrestling ring where success is based on the ability to use and abuse the environment as well as the opponent. Set for release on PlayStation®2 computer entertainment system & the Xbox® video game system from Microsoft in Late Summer of 2003, Backyard Wrestling: Don't Try This At Home will offer an official in-game soundtrack that is as diverse and genre defying as the game itself.

"Eidos Interactive is thrilled to announce this partnership with the Island/Def Jam music group." Says Kevin Gill, of Eidos Interactive. "Island Records, and its related labels RoadRunner and American offer a diversity and depth of sound that is unparalleled. The sound of Backyard Wrestling has arrived."
