"We hope consumers will be excited as we are about this compelling role- playing game that embodies the best of action-oriented game-play," said Philip O'Neil, Senior Vice President of Sales & Marketing for Vivendi Universal Games. "Black Isle Studios has been responsible for some of the best-selling and highly acclaimed computer RPGs in recent memory, and Lionheart: Legacy of the Crusader is a worthy successor to those illustrious titles."
In the game, players can control the entire party themselves or join forces with up to four gamers for mission-based cooperative multi-play. As they progress through the realm of Lionheart: Legacy of the Crusader, players will be able to arm themselves with hundreds of melee weapons and 60 devastating spell attacks as they attempt to turn the tide against a savage onslaught of otherworldly creatures. Lionheart: Legacy of the Crusader also features the SPECIAL RPG system for character advancement previously found in the FalloutĀ® series of PC games.
Players will be swept back to the year 1588 A.D., when medieval knights undertook the Third Crusade. Initially history appears as it should until a disjunction rips open a long-sealed breach to other worlds causing magic energy and powerful spirits to flow into the world, changing the lands and the people forever. For those who can comprehend the nature of these new forces, the introduction of magic will bring great power. In this new yet strangely familiar setting, the player must confront the challenges ahead and decide how to best develop their character's skills and abilities to triumph over obstacles that lie before them to discover the meaning of their true fate.
Lionheart: Legacy of the Crusader is available for a suggested retail price of $49.99 with an ESRB "Teen" rating. For more information, log on to the official Lionheart website.
