Lethal Skies II™ is an arcade-style flight shooter that puts the most powerful modern-day and futuristic fighter jets at the command of players, with a premise that blends science-fiction and real-world themes. The title is a graphic leap from the original, with amazing effects, graphically rich environments and super-detailed jet models. Lethal Skies II gives players access to 19 of the world’s most advanced jet fighters to take on more than 20 missions, including unlockable campaigns that let players switch roles and become the enemy. Additional features in the explosive sequel include split-screen 2-player mode, interactive 3D battle maps, movie galleries and five different 1st and 3rd person POVs. Seven Samurai 20XX is a third-person 3D action game inspired by the greatest samurai film of all time; Akira Kurosawa’s The Seven Samurai. In proper tribute to the masterpiece, the game has involved the cooperation of Kurosawa Production and the late director’s son, Hisao, as well as major contributions from world-famous artists such as legendary artist/designer Moebius and Academy Award® winning composer Ryuichi Sakamoto. Seven Samurai 20XX engages players with an experience that combines intense melee-style samurai combat with an epic story that takes the film’s timeless tale into the future. The title is exclusive to Sony PlayStation®2.
Space Invaders®: Invasion Day™ is an action-packed update to the classic game, coming on the 25th anniversary of the legendary shooter. The title uses full 3D graphics to create an all-new action game evolved from the original premise, taking players to ground level to take on aliens after they touch down on planet Earth. Players assume the role of one of three survivors who must take on wave after wave of invading aliens as they make their way through various environments in a destroyed city. Space Invaders: Invasion Day boasts a large variety of enemies with unique attacks, huge bosses, different power-ups and special weapons for each playable survivor, and richly animated cut-scenes that progress the story. The title is exclusive to Sony PlayStation®2.
In addition to these titles, Sammy Europe will be displaying arcade games running on Sammy’s ATOMISWAVE™. ATOMISWAVE is a new location-based entertainment system that combines a cartridge-based adaptable motherboard with a modular cabinet that can be set up to play driving, shooting, and joystick games. The system is designed to bring great variety back to arcades and entertainment centers by eliminating the need for frequent purchase of large, expensive cabinets to house different genres of games. ATOMISWAVE games on display include the fighting action game Demolish Fist, the side-scrolling shooter Dolphin Blue, the 3D driving game Maximum Speed and the light-gun game Sport Shooting.
