'007: Everything or Nothing' (ALL) Gets Delayed

by Rainier on Sept. 16, 2003 @ 5:55 p.m. PDT

In James Bond 007: Everything or Nothing, players encounter dangerous villains, exotic locations, beautiful women, fast cars, and high-tech gadgetry. The cinematic action-adventure is set in a third-person view that showcases an all-star voice cast.

Redwood City, California-based EA said "007: Everything or Nothing," featuring the likenesses and voices of "Bond" movie franchise stars Pierce Brosnan and Dame Judi Dench, would come out in the March quarter of 2004, the company's fiscal fourth, rather than shipping this holiday season.

Last holiday's "Bond" game, "007: NightFire" sold more than 5 million units across all platforms and was one of EA's top games of fiscal 2003.

In mid-May EA signed a deal with Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Inc. (NYSE:MGM - News) and Danjaq LLC to extend its "Bond" license through 2010.

An EA spokesman said the game, while praised by critics in early previews, would benefit from more work in the studio. He declined to detail the impact, if any, of the game's delay on the company's guidance for the December quarter.

The company has a number of key games on its holiday lineup, including the latest titles in its "Lord of the Rings" and "Medal of Honor" franchises. EA typically generates more revenue in the December quarter than its closest competitors do in an entire fiscal year.
