Atari, Inc. and Firaxis Games have announced the upcoming release of Sid Meier's Civilization III: Gold Edition, the latest offering in the Civilization III franchise. The Gold Edition will include the blockbuster hit Civilization III and the Civilization III: Play the World multiplayer expansion pack.
Gaming fans can now enjoy Civilization III, the highly addictive journey of discovery, combined with the updated and enhanced multiplayer expansion pack, Civilization III: Play the World, all in one box! The Civilization III: Gold Edition provides more ways to win, pathways to explore, strategies to employ as well as exciting online modes of play, giving Civ fans the opportunity to enjoy unmatched strategic gameplay alone or against players from around the world .
Civilization III: Gold Edition will be available on October 28, 2003 for a suggested retail price of $39.99. Civilization III: Conquests, the second expansion pack to Civilization III, will also ship to retail outlets that day.
