The U.S. Quidditch champion will win the opportunity to represent his or her country in the international finals on December 21 in the United Kingdom. The Harry Potter: Quidditch World Cup International Grand Final will feature champion Quidditch players from countries around the world, including France, Germany, Spain, Australia, Japan, Italy, and the UK, all competing for the prestigious world champion title and other prizes.
Entries for the U.S. sweepstakes will be accepted from September 15 through October 15, 2003. The contest is open to U.S. residents between the ages of eight to 14 years. In the Harry Potter: Quidditch World Cup videogame, Harry Potter fans will for the first time be able to fully experience the magical power, speed, and competition of Quidditch, the favorite sport of witches and wizards. Under development by EA's UK studios, the team behind the worldwide success of the Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone(TM) and Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets(TM) games that have sold over 20 million copies worldwide, the new title is scheduled to be in stores in the U.S. on October 31, 2003. Harry Potter: Quidditch World Cup will be available on the PlayStation®2 computer entertainment system, the Xbox(TM) video game system from Microsoft, Nintendo GameCube, Game Boy® Advance, and PC-CD.
