by Judy on Oct. 7, 2004 @ 7:26 a.m. PDT

DreamCatcher Games today announced that it will release a 'Painkiller: Battle Out Of Hell' single-player demo on Tuesday, October 12th. The demo will feature the "Military Base" level, as well as the latest code according to the PK v1.35 patch. Of we will have the demo on our fileserver network the moment it becomes available.

The demo features the latest version of the PAIN Engine and with it, the latest enhancements from the 1.35 update. In the popular "Military Base" level, players will enjoy effects such as heat and haze distortion, light blooms, per pixel specular mapping, new shader effects and tweaks for the latest video cards. All in all, a mere taste of what the PAIN Engine will offer in the expansion pack, Painkiller: Battle out of Hell.

Painkiller has earned numerous fantastic review scores and 'Editor's Choice Awards' thanks to jaw-dropping graphics and intense physics-based gameplay. Featured as the only 1v1 tournament game at last Summer's CPL Extreme World Championships, and as a benchmark for some the industry's top Editors, Painkiller is a definite 'Game of the Year' contender, along-side the heaviest hitters in the 2004 PC shooter genre.

Painkiller currently retails for £29.99 and has a "16+ PEGI" rating in Europe. Painkiller: Battle out of Hell ships in North America on November 11th and begins shipping across the UK on November 26th.
