Xfire is an IM designed for gamers that shows users when, what, and where their friends are playing PC games online. With one click, users can instantly join their friends’ games.
To demonstrate Xfire’s capabilities, Team3D will play Counter-Strike on at least 10 different public servers on Sunday, February 22nd, between 3pm and 6pm PT. To register, gamers should download Xfire from www.xfire.com and add a special “Friend” to their Xfire Friend list. The name of the “Friend” to add is listed at www.xfire.com. Team3D will also add this same “Friend” as their Xfire “Friend”. Because Xfire shows gamers where their “Friends of Friends” are playing, participants will see Team3D playing in their Xfire client application. As long as there is room on the game server, participants can join the fun with a single click.
Craig ‘Torbull’ Levine, manager of Team 3D, comments, "XFire is a great tool to find, track, and play with teammates and friends. Now we can easily find other Team 3D members and play together on public servers when we aren't practicing. The XFire profiles also let us find friends of friends and play together through the XFire network."
Xfire also supports in-game Instant Messaging notification, which alerts friends playing online when a buddy is ready to jump in.
Xfire users can:

- See what game their friends are playing
- See where their friends are playing (server IP, map, player list, etc.)
- Join their friends’ games with one click
