by Rainier on Feb. 12, 2004 @ 11:00 a.m. PST

Oxygen Interactive have signed leading racing-sim developer Brain In a Jar (previously known for Codemasters' Indy Car Series.) to develop an original Rally simulation. Due for completion in Q3, the game will be on the shelves ahead of Rally GB in September, on PS2 and PC. The game will include a selection of international stages, multi-player racing, accessible gameplay detailed physics and car-modelling.

"We're delighted to be working with Brain In A Jar," said Oxygen's Managing Director, Jim Scott. "They come to us with a strong code base, a history of successful work with big-name publishers and huge amounts of enthusiasm. Their love of driving games is really shining through, and we're expecting great things of this title."

Brain In A Jar's Managing Director, Matthew Gabriel, enthused: "This is a project that suits us perfectly. We've got flexible, mature racing technology, and Rally is a sport that really excites us. Oxygen are proving very easy to work with, and development's racing ahead."

With Perfect Ace continuing to enjoy strong sales and International Golf Pro to be released in under two months, this is Oxygen's first motorsports title. For Brain In a Jar, having recently completed the Indy Car Series for Codemasters, this is simply the latest in a string of racing titles.
