Enlight announced today that X²: The Threat is experiencing great sales across North America and debuted as the top selling PC game in the UK and Germany during the second week of February.

A recipient of GameSpy's Editors' Choice award, X2: The Threat offers open-ended gameplay in a vast, dynamic universe, stunning graphics, over seventy ships to operate and the ability to define AI scripts. Noted as "a threat worth facing..." by PC Gamer magazine, many critics have embraced X2: The Threat as a long awaited successor to Elite and Privateer.

"The graphics engine in X2 is breathtaking; bumpmaps, shadows, and lighting play a huge role in this title, and everything you look at is truly awesome. Space stations, larger ships, planets, asteroids, and nebulae are stunning," noted Gamers Depot in its review of the game. "X² is a great-looking game overall, filled with imaginative and spectacular outer-space scenery," said GameSpot.

"With its many interactive gameplay elements, X2: The Threat has revolutionized the space simulation genre," said Paul Lombardi, chief executive officer of Enlight Interactive USA. "X2: The Threat has been well received by reviewers, consumers and retailers throughout North America and Europe. It has surpassed our sales expectations with great momentum and we are preparing for even stronger sales in the months to come."

Stamped with Nvidia's "Way It's Meant To Be Played" seal, X2: The Threat is developed by Egosoft and published by Enlight Interactive in North America. For additional information visit http://www.x2-game.com/.
