The iGames Call of Duty league is scheduled to occur weekly every Tuesday throughout this spring in North American centers. The league involves two weeks of practice and six weeks of intense team vs. team action leading up to the championships on April 20 and 27. iGames’ Events Director, Frank Cabanski says, “based on current player participation and the immense enthusiasm for Call of Duty, we hope this will be the first of many more Call of Duty events held at iGames centers.”
iGames players first began playing Call of Duty in centers shortly after its release last winter. Subsequently, the game achieved the highest iGames debut ever, when it entered in the December Top 20 Games list in the No. 3 position. Because of its strong popularity, an additional Call of Duty league is already planned for May, with monthly tournaments happening at game centers all over the world. Sign-ups are available now on the iGames site.
Since its release, Call of Duty has been a smash hit, topping the charts in North America as the best-selling PC title from November 2003 through February 2004. To date, the title has garnered more than 50 Editors’ Choice Awards and 70 Game of the Year Awards worldwide.
League winners will be awarded select Call of Duty prizes, to be announced at a later date.
