'Marine Heavy Gunner' Ships To Stores

Groove Games today announced the shipping of the next game in their top-selling Marine series, where gamers get to experience elite specialist assignments in the military. Marine Heavy Gunner: Vietnam hits most major retail store shelves this week giving players the opportunity to handle the biggest, meanest guns the US military can build

"We really hit on something with the success of Marine Sharpshooter which gave gamers the opportunity to assume the position of one of the world's most deadly silent military assets," said Jon Walsh, CEO of Groove Games. "The military's Special Forces are the elite of the elite and we wanted to continue capturing that experience for gamers. Marine Heavy Gunner: Vietnam was a natural follow-up to Sharpshooter and does just that."

As a Marine Heavy Gunner, players will assume the role of operating several of the military's powerhouse brute force weapons. Set in the middle of the Vietnam War, you and your platoon must track down a ruthless enemy leader and rescue your fallen comrades from a remote POW camp. Your mission will take you deep into the Vietnam jungle, across rivers, into tunnels and up heavily defended hills against overwhelming odds.

In addition to a fully scripted cinematic story spanning 10 massive levels, Marine Heavy Gunner: Vietnam was developed using the UnrealĀ® engine which means incredibly detailed graphics and impressive effects that help immerse the player in their role as a heroic heavy gun expert. Gameplay is varied and strategic; your platoon fights alongside you and provides ammo and necessary medical attention throughout your missions. Gamers will also be challenged with strategically placing claymores, traps and explosives to clear bridges and other obstacles.

Marine Heavy Gunner: Vietnam ships to most major retail stores August 17th with a suggested retail price of $20 and has an ESRB rating of 'M' for Mature.
