by Rainier on Oct. 4, 2005 @ 4:45 p.m. PDT

Atari and Marathon Animation today announced the companies have completed a licensing deal to bring the Totally Spies property to multiple video game platforms. Totally Spies is the hit French animated TV series that stars three teenaged super-spies from Beverly Hills who fight international crime.

On air since 2001, Totally Spies is shown in more than 100 markets worldwide, including the Cartoon Network in the USA. Atari will develop games based on the Totally Spies license for various platforms including the PlayStation(R)2 computer entertainment system, Game Boy(R) Advance and Nintendo DS(TM).

"Totally Spies has generated an international following and unbelievably devoted and enthusiastic fan base," said Marc Metis, Senior Vice President, Marketing, Atari, Inc. "By developing an interactive counterpart to the show, Atari is extending the Totally Spies experience and will reach an under-served part of the growing games market as well as draw more fans of this adored property."

"Totally Spies' fans have been clamoring for an interactive experience and we are thrilled to team up with Atari to deliver new products worldwide," stated Vincent Chalvon Demersay of Marathon. "Totally Spies is the perfect property to use for interactive games with the action and adventure that it embodies. Fans will finally have their very own interactive way to be part of what they watch on-screen everyday."

Atari's first Totally Spies game will be published for the Game Boy Advance this November. Featuring the show's three heroines -- Clover, Alex and Sam -- the game will include five story-based levels which combine puzzles, racing and fighting. Totally Spies for Game Boy Advance will be rated E for Everyone.
