Born in Iran, Amir Vahidi is a Southern California-based tournament professional. Many people recognize him from the WSOP final table in 2003. He had a considerable amount of chips until he went up against Sammy Farha in a hand. He was ranked 1st for "tournament player of the year" for 2003 with his nine no-limit final table appearances in 2003. This includes his sixth place at the WSOP (where he has lifetime earnings of $300,000.) in 2003 where he made it to the final tale for the third time. He was also named "No-Limit Texas Hold'em" Player of the Year as well as "Best All Around" award at the Poker Finals at Foxwoods in 2001.
