EA today announced people can sign up for the Best of the Battlefield tournament with a grand prize of $250,000 for the winning team. The online tournament will challenge gamers to rule the battlefield in Battlefield 2: Modern Combat available now for the PS2 and Xbox. Gamers can now register for the online tournament which starts on November 21st.

Brought to you by Electronic Arts, the “Best of the Battlefield” Online Tournament begins on November 21, so rally your clan, sign up and start practicing. Space is limited and registration is first come, first served.

"Battlefield 2: Modern Combat raises the bar for online multiplayer action, and EA is making things really interesting with a $250,000 grand prize in the "Best of the Battlefield" tournament," said EA's vice president of marketing, Jillian Goldberg. "If you think you or your clan has what it takes to rule the battlefield online, here's your chance to prove it. Start practicing!"

This massive Battlefield 2: Modern Combat tournament will be the most adrenaline-soaked online tournament ever, and will take place on the PlayStation 2 and Xbox consoles. 128 clans (10 players per clan) from each console will duke it out for the grand prize. The clan with the highest score in the final round of their platform bracket gets to choose the platform for the Championship Match. This is certain to be the tournament of 2005 for serious Battlefield fans, but space is limited. Sign up early -- and practice often!
