About Judy

As WP's managing editor, I edit review and preview articles, attempt to keep up with the frantic pace of Rainier's news posts, and keep our reviewers on deadline, which is akin to herding cats. When I have a moment to myself and don't have my nose in a book, I like to play action/RPG, adventure and platforming games.

'Tenchu: Fatal Shadows' (PS2) Sneaks Into Stores

by Judy on Feb. 17, 2005 @ 11:31 a.m. PST

"The Tenchu franchise pioneered the 3D stealth revolution, and Tenchu: Fatal Shadows is the most sophisticated entry in the series," said Scott A. Steinberg, Vice President of Entertainment Marketing, SEGA of America, Inc. "With an evolved ‘stealth kill' system and a dark storyline centered on fan-favorite ninja Ayame, this game is sure to please longtime Tenchu fans."

SEGA has partnered with FromSoftware and K2 studios - developers of the popular Tenchu: Wrath of Heaven (released in 2003 for PlayStation®2) - to continue the legacy of the flagship franchise. Significant visual upgrades have been made from prior installments, enhanced stealth maneuvers challenge your ninja skills and all-new kill moves add even more realism and entertainment to this ninja-based action adventure.

Ayame returns from prior Tenchu installments to preserve the code of the ninja. Rin, a new playable character, is a ninja-in-training who witnesses the demise of her entire village and is driven to avenge her friends and family. Both girls can now breathe and move underwater using wind reeds, and can hide slain enemies or use them as decoys to lure others.

Tenchu: Fatal Shadows is rated 'M' for Mature and is available at retailers nationwide for an MSRP of $49.95.
