About Judy

As WP's managing editor, I edit review and preview articles, attempt to keep up with the frantic pace of Rainier's news posts, and keep our reviewers on deadline, which is akin to herding cats. When I have a moment to myself and don't have my nose in a book, I like to play action/RPG, adventure and platforming games.

'LotR: The Battle for Middle-earth' - v1.02 Patch In The Works

by Judy on March 11, 2005 @ 10:55 p.m. PST

The Battle for Middle Earth utilizes the Generals game engine, and in the game, players can select from the different "good" or "evil" campaigns, where they will be given the freedom to command a variety of major armies from the films, each with their own distinct strengths and weaknesses.

Please note all changes below are subject to change before release, and are only some of the changes being considered.

  • Gandalf's Istari Light will no longer kill a Nazgul or the Witch-king with 1 shot. It will leave them near death instead.
  • Isengard Pikemen armor weakened. They will now take double the damage when in heavy armor.
  • Heal time changed so that it takes longer to recharge.
  • Gondor and Rohan castle towers take twice as long to rebuild now.
  • Nazgul move somewhat faster, especially when attacking.

Various other issues are being addressed and will be announced at a later date...
