Not really much of a surprise, but in a recent interview with IGN, Maxis producer Scot Amos revealed that they have been working on porting The Sims 2 to consoles and handheld systems. The base of the game will be content that people liked in The Sims 2, but also material taken from the University expansion pack. But people who are familiar with the PC edition, still might want to check the console editions, since it will also have new & exclusive content, new locations, new characters and so forth. The PS2 edition will support HDD and Eye Toy (you can import yourself into the game as a character), the Xbox version will HDTV and 720dpi, while the Gamecube will have custom content.
