Rockstar Games' Upload Online Media Awards Contest

by Rainier on June 22, 2005 @ 6:38 p.m. PDT

Rockstar Games is proud to announce the return of ROCKSTAR GAMES UPLOAD, the digital media awards program that recognizes and celebrates the creative endeavors of the online community in the categories of Short Subject Film, Deejay Mix, Short Fiction and Multimedia Design.

Since its debut in 2001, ROCKSTAR GAMES UPLOAD was the first truly online digital media awards program in that all entries must be submitted via internet-based file transfer for consideration, and has showcased a fantastic cross-section of the high-minded and the masterfully lowbrow alike across all fields of competition. Previous winners have ranged from the seasoned professional to the fledgling amateur, and have included the likes of commercial and music video director Adolfo Doring (for 2002’s “Karaoke Man”), Matt Fraction of renowned digital design studio MK12 (for 2001’s “Man of Action”), as well as Roman Cortez of southern Californian comedy troupe Seven Oh Five (for 2003’s “Skid Marks”).

As in previous years, ROCKSTAR GAMES UPLOAD 4 entries will be judged by Rockstar Games as well as a Rockstar-assembled esteemed celebrity judging panel of industry professionals representing the categories of competition. Previous years’ panels have included designer Deanne Cheuk, RES Magazine publisher Jonathan Wells, and commercial design studio Psyop among many others. ROCKSTAR GAMES UPLOAD 4’s judging panel will be announced shortly.

Grand jury prize judging is provided by sponsors, Independent Film Channel, XLR8R Magazine, Flaunt Magazine, and Design Is Kinky, for the respective categories of film, deejaying, fiction, and multimedia design.
